When making out your camping gear list, it is extremely important to include Waterproof Matches. Your life could depend on your survival skills for unexpected emergencies. Matches are necessary for campfire heat and or for your Camping Stove.

Since fire is such a large part of your Camping and Survival success, we strongly recommend you offer at least two ways to start a fire, with waterproof matches and a lighter. Matches are one of the most surefire and convenient ways to start a fire. Paper matches tend to get damp with moisture or humidity in the air. Damp matches could put your survival at risk.

When emergency situtations happen, rest assured your matches will light with Waterproof Matches. By making your own waterproof matches you will be saving money year after year. We strongly recommend the use of stick matches to start. The rugged construction of these stick matches will hold up and can be stuck on most hard surfaces. Stick Matches come in a box of 100 matches and are easily found in most hardware stores. Save time and money by doing the whole box of stick matches at one time and use them for years and years.

Making Waterproof Matches is an extremely simple process. You can heat wax or even just light a candle and carefully dip the head of the stick match in the wax until it is totally submerged, pull out, and let cool. Some people like to dip the entire stick match in the hot wax. It is not necessary to wax the entire stick match, only the head of the match.

This puts a thin layer of wax all around the match and ensures the match will light even if it has been submersed in water. As an added bonus the wax will help the match burn hotter and longer with the wax on the tip.
